Grange University Hospital: 14-week waits for routine imaging

Routine MRI and CT at the Grange, Llanfrechfa, averaged 14 weeks in July, up from 11 in April. Urgent pathways are unchanged, the board said. Two of five scanners are waiting on parts; a mobile unit is booked from 8 September.
GPs in Newport East have been asked to keep using the existing advice line rather than re-refer. The community health council said it had received 40 complaints about letters that quoted “up to 18 weeks” without a booked slot.
