Broken rail between Cardiff Central and Penarth

Delays of up to 5 minutes. Cancellations possible both ways. Cardiff Bus 92 at no extra cost. Until further notice.

A train on the Welsh rail network

Transport for Wales reports a broken rail between Cardiff Central and Penarth, in the Penarth and Dingle Road area. Services will be delayed by up to 5 minutes. Trains may be cancelled in both directions. Trains are running more slowly than normal through the area, with residual delays of around 5 minutes. TfW expects the incident and the disruption to last until further notice. Network Rail Infrastructure is aware and technicians are en route.

If you need to travel

Passengers can use Cardiff Bus service 92 between Cardiff and Penarth at no extra cost. TfW Pay As You Go cannot be used on local bus operators; tap out at the earliest opportunity. Delay Repay applies if you arrive more than 15 minutes late. Unused tickets can be refunded fee-free from wherever they were bought.
