Newport County v Tranmere Rovers

Last time Tranmere came here, in March, County won 3-1 and climbed out of the League Two drop zone for the first time in 151 days. That was a different season and a different manager. Hayden Mullins takes County into Saturday's 3pm with two league games gone: a 3-0 opening-day win over Rochdale, Cameron, Gwengwe and Bamba on the scoresheet, then a 5-3 defeat at Bristol Rovers. County were ahead after 15 seconds at the Memorial Stadium and still lost. Last season County won six times at home all year.

Tranmere sit 4th, unbeaten, four points. County sit 11th, three points. Mullins has named the same starting XI in every competitive game so far. James Crole is out with an ankle. Jed Garner is injured too.

Courtney Baker-Richardson scored four for County last season. He is a Tranmere player now. He came off the bench on the opening weekend. He is in the Tranmere squad to face his old club.

Mullins wants County to start fast and get the crowd with them. He has watched Tranmere's two games. Tranmere work hard, have quality, and Darrell Clarke's sides are never easy. Cole Jarvis, who played with Baker-Richardson last year, called Tranmere a physical side and said he has no fear of the three points.

The window shuts Tuesday. County go to Salford that night.
